Mark
Watson - Chairman
“Over
the years I have been lucky enough to experience a degree
of success in most things I have tackled - sport and
business included. I have found that material possessions
and 'success' alone do not bring fulfilment or happiness.
Much later than I would have liked I’ve found
that real satisfaction and human fulfilment only comes
from giving of yourself - 'serve to lead'.”
“We all have a responsibility
to use the resources we have, no matter how great or
small, for the benefit of our communities and the wider
world. I would like to see young people make the best
of their lives – and develop that sense of responsibility.”

Richard joined the dare2 trustee team
in 2005. He knew us well before that through his role
as Director at the Oxford Kilburn Youth Trust, one of
our early partner organisations. His extensive background
in children’s and youth work in the inner city
allows for a fresh perspective on the fieldwork dare2
offers.
Richard
is now at Toynbee Hall, heading a service for young
people and families in the East End of London; he is
also about to complete an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling
with Children & Adolescents.
Willem
Krouwel - Resource Development Manager
Bill designs
our workshops and also develops our experiential learning
resources. These form part of a dare2 'field manual'
that accompanies the workshops. He is also undertaking
research in conjunction with the University of the West
of England. This guides our work and brings an academic
rigour to it.
Bill brings a wealth of experience to dare2, having
been involved in outdoor and experiential training for
24 years, 20 of which have been spent running his own
Outdoor Management Training business, QED. He has a
MA in Management Learning and his papers and books on
experiential learning have been published in Britain,
India and Portugal. Bill is heavily involved in his
local church in Shepton Mallet, leading worship, playing
guitar, and preaching there and elsewhere.

Rev. Dr.
Mark 'Jack' Hargreaves -

Though you wouldn't know it from
the picture, Mark is Vicar at St. Peter's in Notting
Hill. Before giving in to his love of fancy dress,
he worked as a secondary school RE teacher. Mark's
long-standing concern for young people is expressed
in his work and also beyond work. For the last
20 years, since his student days, he has been
actively involved in the Oxford Kilburn club,
working with young people from the estates of
North West London. He is currently serving on
their management committee.
Mark has
a PhD. in theology but also likes mountain biking
and football. |
David
Boul - Chief Executive
“My dad was a secondary modern school
headmaster and he had a passion for the “ordinary
pupil” to take responsibility, contribute to the
community and be supported by it. Some of that has rubbed
off on to me. All our best practice and research work
has to have that type of outcome.”
David was a trustee of dare2 before
becoming its CEO in 2005. He has a business background,
having worked in the oil industry and management consultancy.
He is also secretary to the Micah Network and chair
of Woking Citizens Advice Bureau.
