Following consultation with development trainers and others in the outdoor world, we've developed “partner workshops” where we provide expert input from like-minded professionals and create a space for mutual learning for front-line outdoor educators and youth workers.
Other characteristics are:
The workshops are open to all, but priority given to “dare2 partners”. dare2 partners are those people (not organisations) who have been on 2 or more partner workshops.
We want to encourage frequent attendance to help create that professional community, so there will be a discount on displayed price for attending the third and subsequent workshops.
We aim to stimulate and inform without pushing a “party line”, creating an unbiased space for experiential and mutual learning.
The workshops will normally be of 2 or more days, so that attendees have an opportunity for good informal networking during the evening(s). If demand requires it, we will run the same workshop in more than one location to limit travel time and encourage continued involvement.
Workshops for 2006 are:
Facilitation: The hidden skill of the compleat trainer; 24th - 25th October 2006
Creative Course Design: An exciting new approach to experiential learning; 13th -15th November 2006
