“Our vision is to enable marginalised young people
to lead lives that fulfil their potential”
We recognise many in UK have a similar vision and ours is an open partnership approach in pursuit of it. Our particular contribution is more fully expressed below:
“Our mission is to be at the heart of a professional community that
offers experiential learning to marginalised young people
enabling them to make the best life choices
and fulfil their potential.”
We started out in 2001 and to date have focussed on partnerships with individual community youth organisations and schools. With them we have organised and run outdoor experiential learning courses designed to enable young people to address some of the key issues they face.
We have also undertaken research by ourselves and in conjunction with the University of the West of England, aimed at understanding how experiential learning can help young people better.
We have been encouraged by the results of these partnerships and our research. We now planning another programme aimed at becoming a more effective “knowledge hub” for work with marginalised young people.
